Pitti attracts record numbers

More than 25,000 buyers attended the autumn 16 edition of menswear trade show Pitti Uomo in Florence last week, up 4% on the year before.

Of the buyers in attendance, 8,850 came from overseas. The number of UK buyers rose 9% on last year, while there was also an”excellent” turnout from Ireland, the organisers said.

In total, 36,000 people attended the event at the Fortezza da Basso on January 12-15. A record 1,219 brands exhibited.
