Pitti Immagine plans womenswear event

Italian exhibition organiser Pitti Immagine is to launch a womenswear event next January in Florence to capitalise on the success of its menswear show Pitti Uomo.
The Pitti W_Woman Precollection event will take place on January 9-12 alongside Pitti Uomo, and is expected to showcase early collections from as many as 40 international womenswear brands.
Exhibitors will include a pre-collection by 6267, the fashion range by Italian designers Roberto Rimondi and Tommaso Aquilano.

Pitti Immagine president Gaetano Marzotto said the event was an opportunity for buyers to place early orders and take a view on trends for the season. “Pitti W_Woman Precollection is the evolution of what has been happening at Pitti Uomo for several seasons now. It is a professional opportunity for those top buyers who act ahead of others. Pitti Uomo is no longer just the most important menswear show in the world, it is a platform that opens the season of international fashion,” he said.

Pitti W_Woman Pre-collection will be a standalone event and will take place in the former Customs House on Via Valfonda. Its dateline is earlier than womenswear shows Pure and CPD, which both fall on February 10-12 next season.

It is also earlier than young fashion show Bread & Butter, which will be held in Barcelona on January 16-19 2008.
