Menswear trade show Pitti Uomo reported a 5% rise in foreign buyers at its autumn 13 edition as international buyer numbers continued to rise.
The trade show organisers, Pitti Immagine said that the number of international buyers at the show, which ran from January 8 to 11, increased from 7,400 last January to 7,800. The rise comes after an 8% increase in foreign buyers for Pitti’s previous edition in June.
Additionally there was a “very good performance” from UK buyers with buyers from Japan, Turkey, China, Russia, the US, South Korea, Germany and Northern Europe also boasting strong performances.
The number of Italian visitors struggled for this season however, declining by around 6% to 12,800.
