The government will today announce plans for cheaper Chinese tourist visas, as Chinese president Xi Jinping continues his four-day state visit.
Two-year, multiple-entry Chinese tourist visas currently cost £324, but this will be reduced to £85 - the same price as a six-month visa is now.
Ministers are also exploring a pilot for a 10-year tourist visa with unlimited multiple visits.
Jinping’s state visit is the first by a Chinese leader since 2005. Both countries have described it as the start of a “golden era” of relations.
