Gill Politis has left plus-size menswear retailer High and Mighty after just over three years as managing director.
Drapers has learned that Politis has been made redundant as a result of chief executive Angela Spindler’s restructure of N Brown Group.
This will see the business categorise the fascias into one of four divisions - younger females, mature females, males and specialist, rather than the current system, which is defined by age. This will bring High and Mighty into the same category as its younger stablemate Jacamo for the first time, as well as older skewing fascias Premier Man, Williams & Brown.
Staff were told of her redundancy on Friday and it is thought Politis, who joined in September 2010, is now on gardening leave. High and Mighty’s buying and merchandising team will now report to Ian Carruthers, who is group menswear buyer.
Separately Spindler has brought on two new board members as she looks to shake up the business further. Caroline Massingham, formerly of Noble Foods and George, joins as HR director while Ed Watson is joining as director of communications.
A spokeswoman for N Brown Group declined to comment.
