Prada sales jump 29% in first half

Italian luxury fashion house Prada Group saw its total revenue rise 29% to €930m (£773m) in the six months to July 31 fuelled by growth across all distribution channels.

Prada Group, which owns the Prada, Miu Miu, Church’s and Car Shoes brands, said the Far East was the strongest performing territory with sales up 70%, followed by the US where sales rose 41% and Europe where they were up by 37%.

The group said its retail channel performed better than wholesale with total sales up 41% and like-for-like sales up 21%.

Prada declined to provide wholesale revenue figures or profit figures but said it will release more detailed accounts for the first half next month.
