Premium indie OD's adds jewellery and watches to the mix

Premium Merseyside indie OD’s will launch a 1,000 sq ft jewellery and watch department on July 1.

The Drapers Independent Award-winning business, which is based in St Helen’s and owned by Chris O’Dea, currently comprises a 6,000 sq ft menswear store at 44 Barrow Street and adjoining kidswear, womenswear and women’s footwear and accessories stores at numbers 12-16 Cotham Street, which together make up 3,000 sq ft.

The jewellery and watch department will be located at 6-10 Cotham Street, next to the women’s accessories store. O’Dea bought the corner unit in January and has just finished the refit.

It will stock brands including Raymond Weil, Hugo Boss, Vivienne Westwood, Kenzo and Ted Baker. “It lends itself to cross-selling as a lot of the jewellery and clothing brands go hand-in-hand,” O’Dea explained.

The new department will be managed by O’Dea’s wife, Helen, who used to work at a local jeweller.

O’Dea opened the menswear shop in 1992, womenswear in 1997 and kidswear in 2013.

OD’s won Best Store Design at the Drapers Independent Awards in 2013.
