Premium posts record visitor numbers

Berlin trade show Premium saw a rise in visitors from the UK and Ireland for its spring 14 edition as the show recorded its highest ever level of attendance.

Visitors from the UK and Ireland made up 5% of the total attendance at the show compared to 3% this time last year.

Premium, which was held at Station Berlin from July 2 to 4, boasted 900 brands showing around 1500 collections, with 30% of the labels new to the show.

The trade show attracted a large international crowd, with 71% of attendees coming from outside Germany. The biggest visitor increases came from France, the Benelux region, and countries outside Europe.

Co-founder Anita Tillmann called the results for this season’s edition “phenomenal”. She added: “Everything went exactly as it should have. Not only did we record the highest visitor numbers in our history, our exhibitors were thoroughly pleased with the number and quality of visitors viewing their collections. The feedback from the footwear exhibitors was particularly positive with regards to the above-average amount of footwear buyers.”
