Pretty Green says no to fur

Menswear brand Pretty Green is labelling all faux fur trim on its garments as part of a move to publicise its no-fur policy.

The brand, which was founded by Liam Gallagher, has written to animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) to confirm that the brand does not use fur, and requested to be added onto the organisation’s list of fur-free fashion brands.

PETA’s senior programme manager Yvonne Taylor said: “We are delighted to add Liam to the list of talented visionaries and trendsetters who are able to design stylish, fashionable and popular clothing without the use of fur.”

Designer labels such as Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Vivienne Westwood have all publicly sworn off fur in the past.
