Primark confirms two-store strategy for York

Primark has confirmed plans to open a 34,000 sq ft store in The Coppergate Shopping Centre in York, as part of two-store strategy for the city.

The value retailer signed a lease agreement for a 100,000 sq ft store at Monks Cross retail park in York in September last year. It is not yet confirmed when the two stores will open.

Coppergate is located approximately four miles from the Monks Cross retail park on the outskirts of the city.

It comes as Primark announced it was closing one of its two stores in Leeds in March on January 15, to consolidate its presence in the city centre.
