The value retailer, which typically operates on high streets or in shopping centres, currently has four of its 207 UK and Irish stores in out-of-town locations at Westwood Cross in Margate, Banbury Gateway, Milton Keynes Stadium and Edinburgh Fort Kinnaird.

It will open a 38,600 sq ft store at Broughton shopping park in Chester on March 15, a 44,300 sq ft store at Birmingham Fort shopping park on March 16 and a 57,600 sq ft store at Monks Cross shopping park in York in summer this year.

Primark will also open a new 1.1 million sq ft UK warehouse in Islip in Northamptonshire by the summer and will move operations from its Magna Park facility over the following months.
