Primark hires ex-Zara product boss

Primark has appointed former Zara Basic head of product Paula Dumont López to head up its womenswear offering.

Dumont López will take up her new role in January.

She was previously set to join New Look as chief creative officer, but the decision was reversed days after the retailer’s chief executive Anders Kristiansen departed in September.

Dumont López is currently senior vice president and head of Esprit Woman, a role she has held since 2013.

She previously worked at Inditex for 10 years, joining as a fabric buyer for Zara Basic and working her way up to head of product for the brand.

Her role at Primark will involve overseeing its womenswear operations in both domestic and international markets, including the UK and US, Sky News reported.
