Primark has opened its first Italian store in Arese, northwest of Milan.
The 56,000 sq ft store in the Il Centro shopping centre employs 400 members of staff.
“This new Primark store will offer our new Italian customers amazing fashion at amazing prices for all the family,” said Primark chief executive Paul Marchant.
The chain plans to open another store in a mall north of Florence by summer 2017.
The Arese store brings the total number of Primark stores to 306 across 11 countries. It will open a further three shops next month, in York’s Monks Cross shopping park in the UK, and Groningen and Alkmaar in the Netherlands.
Primark’s third US store will open in Danbury, Connecticut, in June.
