Primark recalls men’s flip-flops

Primark has recalled three versions of its Cedarwood State men’s flip-flops after they were found to contain a “restricted substance”.

The value fashion chain is recalling black, blue and khaki-coloured flip-flops and customers are being offered a full refund.

Primark stated online that it found the products contained a restricted substance, in amounts that exceeded the required 1mg per kg.

The statement said: “It has come to our attention that the footwear product detailed above does not meet the Primark usual high standards for chemical compliance.

“With the safety of our customers and respect for the environment at the forefront of our minds we have taken the decision to recall this product […].”

The shoes, which were on sale since 4 January, were taken off the shelves on 2 June.
