Primark to open first US store in Boston

Primark is to open stores in the northeast of America towards the end of next year following “extensive research” by the retailer.

The first shop, a 70,000 sq ft store in Boston, in the historic Burnham Building – which was built in 1912 and was previously Filene’s department store – is scheduled to open towards the end of 2015.

The retailer also said negotiations are under way to open further stores in the northeast of the US through to the middle of 2016.

Primark currently has stores in nine countries in western Europe.
