Pringle design director set to leave

Pringle of Scotland’s design director Alistair Carr is leaving the luxury knitwear brand after just over a year at the company.

According to reports, the parting was a mutual decision and the label’s future collections will be designed by the current in house team. Carr will show his spring 13 menswear collection in mid-June, which will be shown via presentations instead of on the catwalk.

Carr joined Pringle last March from Balenciaga. He succeeded Clare Waight Keller who resigned earlier after five years as creative director.

Carr joined Balenciaga in 2007 and has previously worked at Marni, Cacharel and Chloe. In the mid-2000s he also showed his own label at London Fashion Week for three seasons.
