Net profits at Spanish retail giant Inditex rose by 18% to €654m (£573m) in the first quarter of 2017 as the group continues to expand internationally.
Sales on a constant currency basis also grew, rising 12.5%.
Zara launched online in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam during the quarter and will go live in India during the second half of this year. It opened a flagship Indian store in May.
Several Inditex fascias opened new European flagships, including a Pull & Bear store in Paris and Oysho, the group’s gym wear brand, in Turin.
The company distributed €42m (£37m) among 84,000 employees in April this year as part of a employee profit-sharing plan.
