Property tycoon interested in ‘rescuing’ BHS

Property owner Yousuf Bhailok is reportedly interested in rescuing collapsed chain BHS out of administration.

Bhailok, a former general secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain, wants at least three quarters of BHS’s 160 stores as part of a plan to acquire the retail chain as a going concern, according to The Times.

Bhailok registered a new entity, BHS Revive, at Companies House the day the department store chain was placed into administration and is believed to be submitting his plan to administrators Duff & Phelps.

  • Just because people have a lot of money and fancy buying a broken retailer doesn't qualify them to run a retail businesses. Half the problem with retailers today is they are owned by people who have no idea about being a retailer and that is why so many have collapsed over the recent years. Retailing is not for the faint hearted and is a tough industry.

Totally agree with the above comment. When you get amateurs running businesses, all too often it goes one way.

    BHS is not saveable. Period.
