Pure Collection appoints non-executive chairman

Cashmere retailer and mail order business Pure Collection has appointed Peter Chappelow as non-executive chairman.

The former M&M Direct chairman joins as part of an “ambitious growth strategy” to grow the multichannel company’s turnover to £100m.

Pure Collection chief operating officer and founder Nick Falkingham said: “[Chappelow’s] track record with entrepreneurial businesses together with his specific expertise in direct businesses transitioning to fully fledged multichannel retailers makes him a perfect appointment for Pure.”

Pure Collection was founded in the UK in 2002 as a mail order business, launching a catalogue in the US in 2006. It opened its first store in York in 2011 and now has six in England, with the others in Tunbridge Wells, Guildford, Marlow, Reigate and London.

Chappelow will continue as non-executive chairman at upmarket furniture retailer OKA, working alongside founder and vice chairman Lady Annabel Astor.
