Pure London sees attendance rise

Pure London, the womenswear trade show, closed yesterday with a 4.25% rise in visitor numbers.

Within that, UK attendance was up around 6%, suggesting UK buyers are opting to visit domestic trade shows over international fairs.

Buyers that attended Pure London, which ran from February 8-10, included teams from Asos, Bentalls, Fenwick, Hoopers, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Selfridges, Topshop and Shoe Studio Group.

Pure London show director Sarah Lawrence said: “We saw a positive three days with excellent attendance from independents and department stores. Feedback from our exhibitors was that they had seen quality customers and had been writing excellent orders at the show.”

  • I was at Pure on Sunday. It didnt feel that busy but certainly everyone was trying to put on a brave face. Most people I saw there said what other choice did they have than to keep their chin up. I wonder how many independents stayed at home because they hadn't paid their suppliers. What we need is support from our brands and fortunately most of them are giving it to me at the moment. I would like to know what other independents are finding?
