‘Pure London’s revised date is a blessing for buyers’

The Olympics has affected everything this season and not even the retail fashion market has escaped.

Buying for spring 13 has been unlike any other previous season, as retailers have had to choose between making purchases early or slightly later than they’re used to.

Womenswear show Pure London is sitting in an advantageous position with its revised dateline of August 19 to 21. This extra time should be viewed as a blessing in the current climate of uncertainty. It offers the breathing space to mull everything over before making educated and well-considered buying decisions for the season ahead.

Business insight also takes time to build. More than 50 top buyers will take to the stage in a comprehensive series of seminars and panel talks at Pure. The timing of the show means these industry experts will have the benefit of hindsight, and this intelligence is gold dust for buyers.

As a gauge of industry appetite, the numbers speak for themselves.

A record-breaking 225 new brands have confirmed to date and the number of pre-registered visitors is on-target.

So while this dateline isn’t likely to be forever, it is evidently the best scenario for retailers on the hunt for spring 13 success right now.
