Quiksilver boss lost at sea

The chief executive of Quiksilver, Pierre Agnès, has reportedly gone missing at sea off the coast of France.

Agnès’s sailing boat was washed up on the beach near Hossegor, south-west France, on 30 January following a fishing trip, French news outlet reports.

French police and the coast guard are continuing to search for Agnès.

He joined Quiksilver nearly 30 years ago, and is based at Quiksilver’s European headquarters in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, south of Biarritz.

Earlier this month Boardriders bought surfwear rival Billabong in a bid to dominate the action sports market.
