Sales at womenswear retailer Quiz rose 19.2% year on year from 1 October to 31 December, thanks to strong omnichannel growth over the Black Friday, Christmas party and festive trading period.
Online sales rose 75% and like-for-like sales from Quiz stores in the UK and Ireland rose 6.7%. Margin remained in line with the previous year.
“We saw particularly strong demand for evening wear and dresses in the run up to Christmas, as our customers continued to see Quiz as the destination for fast fashion and occasionwear at outstanding value,” said business development director Sheraz Ramzan.
Revenue hit £87.4m for the year to 31 March, up from £78.2m year on year, and profit before tax grew by 17% to £5.7m. UK retail sales excluding ecommerce were up by 10% but it was online sales that saw the real growth, up by 33%.
During the year, the retailer opened 50 new UK and Irish store and concessions, a further eight internationally, taking its presence to more than 300 in 20 countries.
