Stead joined from his role as chairman of in May 2015 while Alan Stone-Wigg took up the new role of chief operating officer in January this year to lead the brand’s retail, ecommerce, wholesale and international divisions.

The accessories brand will open the new store in early April and it will feature a customisation area for leather monogramming, a gift wrapping area and an inspiration wall.

The firm has not confirmed how many more shops it will open but said the Manchester store is the first of a number of “customer experience” flagships set for key city locations.

Radley has 33 UK retail stores, and UK stockists including John Lewis and House of Fraser. It also sells via its own website to 47 countries.

It was founded in 1998 and is currently owned by Exponent Private Equity, Phoenix Equity Partners and the company’s management team.
