Record number of UK brands head to Pitti Uomo

A record number of UK menswear, footwear and accessories brands will exhibit at this season’s Pitti Uomo, which will be held in Florence next week.

More than 90 brands will showcase their latest collections at the show, held from June 16-19, making the UK the second largest national presence after the host country.

New exhibitors from the UK include Kestin Hare menswear, Lathbridge footwear by Patrick Cox, Caterina Bellaurdo shoes, Dalton Bros bags, Jack Moran shoes, Maksters footwear, Northskull men’s jewellery, St Piece luxury scarves and Tom Smarte hats.

More than 20 companies have received grants from UK Trade & Investment under the Tradeshow Access Programme, administered by the UK Fashion and Textile Association.

“Based on the buzz at last season’s Pitti Uomo, competition for space for new companies was intense,” said Paul Alger, director of international business development at UKFT.

UKFT, which will have an information stand at the show, will be running its #britsaroundtheworld campaign on Twitter and Instagram.

Pitti Uomo will also host a guest womenswear catwalk show for Thomas Tait, the Canadian-born and UK-based Central St Martin’s designer on June 17.
