Record numbers at Première Vision

The French textiles trade show Première Vision Paris (19 to 21 September) saw a record number of exhibitors this season.

There were more than 2,000 exhibitors for the 55,497 visitors to peruse as the show put innovation at the heart of its latest edition.

Attendees were mostly from Europe, with French, Italian and British people making up almost half of the cohort.

73% of visitors were international. With 3,101 visitors, China, whose creative fashion market continues to grow, provided the most visitors from the Asian countries, followed by Japan. The show also welcomed 1,029 buyers from South Korea, “a true market of opportunity for innovative and creative fashion”, organisers said.

With 2,269 visitors, meanwhile, North America registered a slight decline. Organisers said that this was a direct consequence of structural and economic changes in the United States.

Turkey, the sixth largest visitor country, also experienced a dip in attendance. This was blamed on the country’s monetary and economic problems.
