Sports giant Reebok is on the hunt for its first UK stores as it aims to capitalise on the growing sports performance market.
The sports brand, owned by Adidas, is searching for premises London’s West End before a roll-out. It is thought to have hired property agent Jones Lang LaSalle to help find properties.
The initaitive comes as retailers seek to fill the GAP left by the collapse of JJB Sports. This week JD opened its new Pro format in the City of London, as revealed by Retail Week last month. Last year Foot Locker launched a new fascia here, called Locker Room, also targeting the sports performance customer.
It is thought that the Reebok stores will be positioned to appeal to women in particular.
Reebok sells online in the UK and through stockists including sports retailers, footwear chains and depatrment stores.
