Northern Irish menswear brand Remus Uomo will open its first store in Dublin today (Tuesday).
The pop-up, which measures more than 1,000 sq ft, is located on the ground floor of a former coach house building at 12 St Stephen’s Green. It will showcase the brand’s autumn 16 collection.
It will remain open until early next year, when Remus Uomo plans to open a permanent store in the city centre. The brand has been eyeing a site in Dublin for some time.
Remus Uomo, which won Menswear Brand of the Year at the Drapers Independents Awards 2016, has taken a cautious approach to its retail expansion. It launched the first company-operated Remus Uomo store in Belfast in 1995, followed by one in Glasgow. It also has two franchise stores in Galway and Ballymena, County Antrim.
Remus Uomo is the largest brand owned by men’s and kids’ wear brand house Douglas & Grahame, which is based in Carrickfergus, County Antrim. The business has 400 stockists, the majority of which are in the UK and Ireland.
