Richard James opens US store

Savile Row tailor Richard James has started its international expansion with the opening of its first US store, on Park Avenue in New York.

The 2,260 sq ft store will house ready-to-wear and bespoke.

It has been designed by Andy Martin Architecture, which also worked on the brand’s London flagship.

The tailor currently has two stores in London. The new opening marks the start of plans to open global outposts following a majority stake investment by American property magnate Charles S Cohen last year.

Sean Dixon, founder and managing director of Richard James, said: “This is a natural progression for us, as well as a very exciting one. Richard James has always appealed to men of a certain attitude more than any defined demographic, and we’ve had a very strong following in New York ever since we opened our first store on Savile Row. We just feel that we’re at home here.”
