Former London Fashion Week designer Richard Nicoll has left his position as creative director of preppy young fashion chain Jack Wills.
His responsibilities have been split between chief executive Peter Williams and chief product officer Emma Alexander. The design team now reports into Alexander.
Nicoll left in October 2015, but notice of the termination of his position as a director at the firm was only filed at Companies House this week.
The reason for his departure has not been disclosed. However, Drapers understands there was thought to be less need for a creative director after Williams, who co-founded Jack Wills in 1999, returned to the helm in August 2015.
Williams has more of a product background and focus than his predecessor, Wendy Becker, who was chief executive for two years and hired Nicoll in February 2014. Drapers understands he left on amicable terms with the company.
Nicoll is understood to be exploring opportunities and has no intention of reviving his own label, which he put on hold after he joined Jack Wills.
Jack Wills declined to comment.
