Richard Ratner stable after heart attack

Veteran retail analyst Richard Ratner is in a stable condition after suffering a heart attack at his office in the City yesterday afternoon.

The Seymour Pierce analyst, known to the industry as Ratty, is still in intensive care. The news was broken to retailers attending a Seymour Pierce party last night.

Ratner, whose caustic broker's notes are a legend in the retail industry, joined Seymour Pierce in 1997. He is vice-chairman of the business. A spokeswoman for the company, which is house broker for fashion retailers including Monsoon and Asos, told Drapers: "He is seriously ill, but his condition is stable."
