Rigby & Peller rejigs buying team

Lingerie retailer Rigby & Peller has made a raft of changes to its buying team following sales growth over the first half of the year.

Nicky Clayton, who was previously head of buying, has been promoted to the newly created role of creative director.

Former swimwear buyer Mary McLeod has taken over Clayton’s role of head of buying and also joined the management board. She joined the company in 2006.

Rigby & Peller, which has seven stores in the UK, has also appointed Priya Kumar as assistant buyer. She joins from Bentalls, where she held the same role.

McLeod said Rigby & Peller had enjoyed a 8% rise in sales for the first six months of the year compared to the same period last year.

“The buying team has been expanded to support this growth and ensure we are well placed to continue the upward sales trend through the 2011 seasons,” she added.
