Roksanda appoints first chief executive

London-based luxury label Roksanda is understood to have appointed Aspinal of London’s Carmela Acampora as its first chief executive officer.

Acampora, who is currently chief operating officer of leather goods brand Aspinal of London, will take up her new position in January, Business of Fashion reports.

She previously spent almost 14 years at Burberry, latterly as vice president and managing director of emerging markets. Before that, she worked as PR executive manager at food and drinks company PepsiCo.

It comes after Eiesha Bharti Pasricha, a businesswoman and daughter of telecom baron Sunil Bharti Mittal, took a minority stake in Roksanda for an undisclosed amount.

The company is understood to be planning an expansion of its retail presence – it has one store so far on London’s Mount Street, which opened in June – and to launch an ecommerce site in the first quarter of 2015.

Roksanda was launched by Serbian designer Roksanda Ilincic in 2005.
