Royal Mail to send junk mail based on online shopping history

Royal Mail is planning to send targeted marketing letters encouraging shoppers to buy goods from retailers whose sites they have visited online, the Daily Mail reports.

The mailouts could be triggered simply by clicking on products and adding them to your basket.

It has begun piloting the scheme with a UK retailer, as yet unnamed, and could roll it out within months.
