RSPCA announces awards Good Business Awards shortlist

Marks & Spencer, New Look and Asda are among the retailers and brands shortlisted for the Drapers-sponsored fashion, accessories and sportswear categories at this year’s RSPCA Good Business Awards.

George at Asda, New Look, M&S and Spanish designer Adolfo Dominguez have been shortlisted for the large fashion company category.

Knitwear label Izzy Lane, womenswear retailer Junky Styling and menswear and womenswear retailer Eloise Grey have been shortlisted in the small fashion company category.

Outdoor clothing brand Finisterre and womenswear and menswear brand Rapanui have been shortlisted in the small company category for best sportswear.

Online accessories store Nature’s Boutique, online vegan boutique Neon Collective and knitwear brand The North Circular, co-founded by model Lily Cole, will battle it out to win the small company category for best accessories.

Recognising the very best businesses in the UK, the RSPCA Good Business Awards 2010 reward companies for their ethical approach to animal welfare.

Designer Wayne Hemingway, one of the judges, said: “We were really impressed by the calibre of entries this year, which have shown a major advance since they first started six years ago. I was particularly taken with the smaller, ethically minded companies who are actively listening to customers and making huge steps forward for animal welfare.”

The awards will be held at One Marylebone, London on October 6.
