Rupert Sanderson opens Chinese flagship

Luxury UK footwear brand Rupert Sanderson has opened its first Chinese flagship at the Shanghai IFC Mall.

The 1,400 sq ft store, opened with franchise partner Bertrand Mak, is the brand’s largest flagship store to date in Asia, and the third standalone store in the region. The brand’s other stores are at On Lan Street and Elements Mall in Hong Kong.

Owner Rupert Sanderson said the store and location were an “exquisite expression of the brand”.

He added: “The shoes and styles have been specifically chosen from the collection for the Shanghai market and the new store provides a perfect backdrop to develop our business in China.”

Rupert Sanderson also has one store in the UK, in London’s Mayfair.

The brand also has over 200 wholesale accounts worldwide including Barneys and Saks in the US, Selfridges and Harrods in the UK, Al Rubaiyat in Jeddah and Net-A- Porter online.
