Sainsbury’s has extended the online trial of its Tu clothing range to a select group of customers in London and the Southeast.
It is part of a wider plan to roll out ecommerce sales of the label, which sells womenswear, menswear and kidswear, to all of the UK during the first half of 2015.
It follows a trial of 200 customers in the Midlands last August. At the time, 80% of the collection was made available for home delivery, with around 50 stores also offering click-and-collect.
As reported by Drapers in January, Sainsbury’s chief executive Mike Coupe revealed plans to grow the trial on a region-by-region basis, though no timeline or locations were given.
A statement from the company said: “The trial for Tu clothing online is still underway and has been extended to a group of customers in London and the Southeast. We will announce the next steps in due course once we have had further feedback from customers.”
