Sales and profits rocket at The Hut Group

Etailer The Hut Group has reported a 39% rise in group sales to £244m for the year to December 31, as EBITDA rocketed 50% to £22.6m.

International sales were up 74% to £113.3m for the period, as it shipped 13 million orders to 190 countries.

During the year the company invested £15m in developing its technology platform, launching 17 new international websites, up from three. The group will launch another 12 sites, including a Chinese website, in 2015.

In January the business announced it will invest £100m in a new distribution and manufacturing centre in Warrington, creating 2,000 jobs over the next three years.

Matthew Moulding, chief executive of The Hut Group, said: “Our focus is to further develop our own brand strategy and technology platform, underpinning our strong international growth and continuing differentiation.

“This year will see us launch another 12 international sites and will see our distribution and manufacturing centre of excellence become fully operational in the second half.”
