Japanese sportswear and footwear brand Asics delivered net sales growth of 16% across Europe, the Middle East and Africa between January and December 2015.
Turnover has more than doubled across the EMEA region over the past five years. Sales in its own retail stores increased by 26%.
The brand said the UK delivered “solid” single-digit growth, though no figure was given.
The running and tennis categories performed particularly well, as did sub-brand Asics Tiger. The latter has achieved triple-digit growth since its relaunch in 2015.
Alistair Cameron, Asics’ chief executive for the EMEA, said the business is looking to cement itself as the leading performance running brand this year.
“In 2016 we will look to consolidate on this year’s successes and build our business in the training category and with younger audiences, both of which are booming across the EMEA region.”
