The centre saw a 14% increase in visitor numbers compared with the same period in 2015.

This is in contrast with a 2.8% decline in footfall across the wider retail sector between May 29 and July 2 2016, according to the latest figures from the British Retail Consortium and Springboard.

Sue Shepherd, centre manager at LDO, said: “Demand for high street brands at outlet prices has, if anything, strengthened since the Brexit vote.”
