Sales up at Roman Originals

Sales at Roman Originals increased 15.1% to £65.6m for the 52 weeks to 30 December 2017, thanks to improved product ranges and increased web sales. 

Profit at the womenswear chain jumped 520% to £3.1m compared to the previous year.

Gross margins improved by 1.6 percentage points.

Roman’s joint managing directors Rick and Peter Christodolou said they are confident that turnover and profitability will be maintained in forthcoming years, in a filing at Companies House.

The company employed 868 people at the year end, down from 918 the previous year.

Roman has more than 150 stores and concessions in shops including Beales, House of Fraser, Boundary Mills and TJ Hughes.
