Salvatore Ferragamo appoints new creative director

Italian luxury goods group Salvatore Ferragamo has appointed British footwear designer Paul Andrew as creative director of its women’s product categories.

Andrew joined Salvatore Ferragamo as design director of women’s footwear in September.

Andrew, who takes up the role with immediate effect, will oversee the development of all its womenswear product categories, including footwear and accessories, as well as the creative content relating to all marketing, communication and image activities.

Group chief executive Eraldo Poletto said: “Paul has a dynamic vision for the Ferragamo woman, which he has demonstrated with crystal precision and success in footwear over the past year. He has a sensitivity for the essential codes and values of the Ferragamo house, and is able to recast and reassert them with an exciting, modern energy.

“I am confident that with this new responsibility, Paul will now be able to creatively unify all categories of the women’s business with coherence and synergy, strengthening our brand identity.”

Paul Andrew’s full womenswear collection for Ferragamo will be presented for the autumn 18 season.
