Sandro CEO to join Lanvin

Lanvin has appointed Jean-Philippe Hecquet as chief executive, signalling what Joann Cheng, chair of Lanvin and its majority shareholder, Fosun Fashion Group, called “the beginning of a new chapter”.

Hecquet boasts more than 20 years of experience in the luxury fashion sector, most recently with four years as global chief executive of Sandro. He spent 14 years at LVMH, latterly as retail director at Tag Heuer.

Cheng said: “We are convinced that Jean-Philippe’s extensive international experience in the luxury fashion industry, his strong entrepreneurship, and his proven managerial skills will be major assets in developing and accelerating Lanvin’s business.”

Hecquet added: The heritage of Lanvin is rich and prestigious. And its DNA is unique, which gives us a beautiful opportunity to breathe new life into the oldest and perhaps most revered of the French fashion houses.

“Fashion is a continuous challenge, and I will bring to Lanvin my retail and fashion experience as well as my winning spirit, my passion, and a lot of ambition. I’m convinced that with a high-performing team and the strong support of Fosun Fashion Group, we will make Lanvin beat again in the hearts of our customers.”

The company is also set to appoint a new creative director as a priority.
