Sarah Curran-Usher joins retail headhunter

Sarah Curran-Usher has joined Retail Executives, a specialist fashion and retail recruitment firm, as a partner and head of the new retail advisory division.

Curran-Usher was previously managing director of Shop Direct’s Very Exclusive division and left in 2017. She is currently chairman of luxury British brand Richards Radcliffe and a non-executive director of French Connection.

A former sub-editor at The Times, Curran-Usher co-founded her own affordable luxury ecommerce site, My-Wardrobe, in 2006, but eventually departed in 2013. That same year she received an MBE for her services to fashion.

My-Wardrobe ceased trading in December 2014 and its domain name was sold to Net-a-Porter Group.

At Retail Executives, she will set up the new retail advisory division.

Last month former LK Bennett and BHS chief executive Darren Topp joined the firm as chairman.

Retail Executives was formed earlier this year by Richard Hollister, who previously worked at headhunters including Barracuda Search, CT Patners and Boyden. He is aiming to assemble an advisory board of senior fashion and retail executives, and is set to announce further appointments over the next few weeks.
