Savile Row tailor Huntsman to open New York store

Savile Row men’s and womenswear tailor Huntsman will open a store in New York this autumn and has made a number of senior appointments as it seeks to expand.

The company’s owner and non-executive chairman Pierre Lagrange said: “We have spent the last two years improving the infrastructure within Huntsman and are now determined to take the business onto the next level, in London, the US and Asia.”

Huntsman has promoted Dario Carnera from senior cutter to co-head cutter to work alongside newly appointed head cutter Campbell Carey.

Carey, who was previously head cutter at Kilgour, has also taken on the role of creative director. She succeeds Roubi l’ Roubi, who is retiring from Huntsman to focus on womenswear.

Robert Bailey, formerly head cutter at Davies and Son, joined Huntsman last month to develop its bespoke clientele in Asia.
