Scandinavian countries have a reputation for high-quality outerwear, and Norwegian brand Serac, founded by Tore Mortvedt, former lead technical designer for Helly Hansen, is the latest name on the scene.
Serac comprises three men’s outerwear styles a parka, bomber jacket and a cotton coat. Designed for an ergonomic fit, details include laminated pleats – which improves movement around the shoulders – under-arm panels and an extra-wide back to provide more comfort.
The waxed-cotton shell fabric, produced by British Millerain, is fully washable and waterproof. The coat is filled with Primaloft Gold insulation down. The range is designed in Norway and manufactured in Italy.
Mortvedt created the styles to be sustainable, investment pieces, and the quality and high price points reflect that. The brand made its UK debut at The Shop at Bluebird in December 2018, and is seeking more stockists.
Wholesale prices range from €850 (£774.41) for a waxed cotton bomber to €1,000 (£900.48) for a waxed cotton down parka; seracofficial.com; email@example.com
