Scott Tepper has joined Liberty in the newly-created role of head of collaborations.
The London department store’s collaborations have included tie-ups with Nike, Barbour, Hermès and Manolo Blahnik.
Tepper joins from Kurt Geiger, where he has been head of buying for external brands since August 2010. From 2005 to 2010 he worked as a senior buyer for footwear at New York department store Bergdorf Goodman. He was fashion director of apparel and accessories at US premium store group Henri Bendel from 2002 and 2005.
At Liberty, Tepper will report directly to managing director Ed Burstell, who he has worked with at those two American retailers.
“He will be working closely with our press and marketing team – and me – as we continue our exciting collaboration projects and expand the Liberty brand worldwide,” Burstell told WWD.com.
Tepper will work alongside the buying and merchandising team, as well as the Liberty Art Fabrics team, to identify future collaboration projects. He will also be responsible for the further development of a Liberty branded range of high-end bags and leather accessories and its eventual wholesale distribution, said WWD.com.
