Scottish retail locations sold to HSBC

Two retail locations in Scotland including the country’s second largest covered shopping centre have been sold by owners Land Securities to HSBC Alternative Investments Limited for £224m.

The one million sq ft The Centre, home to the likes of Primark, Debenhams, BHS and M&S, has been grouped with the 116,000 sq ft Almondvale West Retail Park, which comprises six units including TK Maxx and Matalan, in the deal.

Managing director of retail at Land Securities, Scott Parsons, said the move “follows a number of recent transactions demonstrating our clear commitment to reshaping our shopping centre portfolio to focus on dominant regional and Greater London assets”.
