The 1,754 sq ft store in the Sanderson Arcade will be the brand’s most northerly in the UK to date. It brings Seasalt’s total store count to 31.
Seasalt, which won Womenswear Brand of the Year at the 2013 Drapers Awards, posted a 26% increase in profits to £2.7m for the year to January 31 2015. Sales for the year were up 32% to £28.2m.
Seasalt co-founder Neil Chadwick said: “We’ve all worked incredibly hard to get to where we are and we’re thrilled to be able to expand our business to another site further north for us.”
Dransfield Properties, the company which owns and manages Sanderson Arcade, is also delivering a new £7m town centre development in Morpeth, which will transform a former Morrisons into three new units, housing Pets at Home, Next and Home Bargains.
