Seasalt sales hit a high watermark

Cornish lifestyle business Seasalt has posted a 26% increase in profits to £2.7m for the year to January 31, as the company builds momentum and scale.

Sales for the year were up 32% to £28.2m, the fifth consecutive year the company has exceeded year-on-year growth of 30%.

During 2014 Seasalt opened seven new stores, taking the total to 30.

Neil Chadwick, Seasalt co-founder, said: “2014 was also a pivotal year for Seasalt. We continued to serve more customers the way they want, but we also took care to invest for the next stage of growth. We invested in new digital systems and new collections to ensure our offering responds to the needs of our growing customer base.

“In an ever-changing retail environment, we are focused on delivering a distinct Seasalt retail experience, instore and online, so our customers enjoy browsing and choosing our pieces, whether it is a raincoat, a cushion or one of the scents from our new Seasalt fragrances range launched last month.”
